Free cookie scanner
Is your website cookie compliant under EU cookie rules?
Our free cookie scanner shows which cookies load before your visitors consent and which keep running after they reject. We check your page against EU cookie rules, like the GDPR and ePrivacy Directive, plus Google Consent Mode v2.
Built for EU cookie consent requirements
GDPR, ePrivacy Directive and Google Consent Mode v2. US state laws aren’t covered.

Enter the page you want to check and your email. Your report appears here in about a minute, and we’ll email you a link to it.
How does the cookie scanner work?
You give us a page
Enter the page you want checked, like example.com or shop.example.com. We look at that exact page, so pick the one that matters most, usually your homepage.
The scan runs at two points
First, the scan checks what’s set on your page before anyone touches your banner. Then it clicks ‘reject all’ for you and checks again. Cookies and trackers both show up in that comparison, along with your banner setup and the external services your page contacts.
You get a report
Your results appear on screen in about a minute, and we email you a link so you can come back to them later. A summary dashboard first, then the detail behind each finding, with an explanation of what each check covers and what the findings may indicate.
What we check
Every check is based on EU privacy rules, like the GDPR and ePrivacy Directive, and Google’s requirements for Consent Mode v2.
Cookies and trackers
Everything set before anyone consents, and everything still running after a reject. Each one comes back with its category and how long it lasts. Anything we can’t match to a category is flagged for you to review.
Your consent banner
Which consent platform you’re running, and whether your banner has a reject option, a way to withdraw or edit consent, and a link to your privacy policy.
Google Consent Mode v2
Whether it’s active and what your default signal states are, whether your banner links to Google’s privacy policy, and which Google scripts and Tag Manager containers are running.
We check the load order too
Your default consent settings only work if they load before your Google tags. We check the order, and flag it when tags fire first.
Where your data goes
Every external service your page contacts, with anything outside the EU flagged. Requests to services outside the EU may need a closer look at your legal basis for transferring data.
What’s in your report
A count of the cookies, trackers and external requests we found, then the detail behind each one. Every cookie and tracker comes with its category, how long it lasts and whether it appeared before consent or survived a reject. You’ll see which consent platform we detected, how your Consent Mode v2 signals are set, and how many of your requests go to services outside the EU.
The check is a snapshot of one page, taken at a single moment. To scan your whole site and keep it monitored as things change, start a free trial.
Frequently asked questions
Which laws does the cookie scanner check?
The check is built for EU cookie rules. It looks at how your page handles cookies and consent under the GDPR and the ePrivacy Directive, plus Google’s Consent Mode v2 requirements. It doesn’t cover US state laws, like the CCPA, or other privacy laws outside Europe.
Is the cookie scanner really free?
Yes. No account, no credit card, no trial required. Enter a page and you get a report.
How long does the check take?
About a minute. Your report shows up right on the page, and we email you a link to it too. So you can close the tab and come back to it later.
What do you do with my email address?
We use it to send you a link to your report and to follow up about it. You can opt out of marketing emails on the form, and we’ll still send the report link either way.
Can I scan a page behind a login?
No. The check sees your page the way a visitor does, so anything behind a login or a paywall is out of reach. Pick a public page.
Does a clean report mean I’m compliant?
No. The check is a helpful starting point, not a compliance certificate or legal advice. It can’t catch everything, and it looks at one page at a single moment. It also only checks against EU laws. For a full website scan, start a free trial.

*A quick note about your results
This cookie check is a helpful starting point, but it’s not the whole story:
- It may not catch everything
- It only checks against EU data privacy rules
- It’s not a substitute for legal advice
- We can’t guarantee 100% accuracy
- For tailored legal guidance, please consult a professional lawyer
