“Very easy to set up and get going – surprisingly because pretty advanced engine”
What do you like best about Cookie Information?

The whole onboarding was super easy. I got up and running on my own, but the sales rep called just to make sure I had all I needed. Love that I can customize as I please.

“Fast, easy and great support”
What do you like best about Cookie Information?

The self-help section is excellent. Since my company is small and we don’t have the resources to outsource, the do-it-yourself approach was what I had to do. The guides were super easy and I could set everything up nicely. Customer service quickly answers and checks if you have e done a good job.

Cookie Information cons

The onboarding UX can be more intuitive, and while the platform guides you through all the important steps, some vital aspects (such as cookie-blocking) could be emphasized more. They compensate for this with very well documented support articles and prompt guidance via chat, email, and phone.
The pricing models of Cookie Information and CookieYes are both dependent on the amount of pages being scanned, and on the amount of traffic the websites receive. For websites with a high number of consents collected, Cookie Information’s pricing can be on a higher end compared with some competitors, but the level of service included in the enterprise packages is also of a higher quality.

CookieYes pros

CookieYes offers both a 14-day free trial and a free plan, perfect for very small websites that have basic cookie management needs (under 100 pages, under 25,000 pageviews / month). This makes it a preferred choice for blogs and personal websites which don’t require advanced customization features.

Their higher price tiers (Pro and Ultimate) offer geotargeting, allowing to display a GDPR / CCPA compliant cookie banner as per your visitors’ location.

CookieYes offers a very competitive and straightforward pricing model. Their most expensive package (Ultimate) includes unlimited page views and unlimited number of subdomains included for a good price, which makes it very appealing for businesses with high amount of traffic.

CookieYes cons

The options available for customization are a bit more limited than for Cookie Information. They only offer CSS customization (not JavaScript or HTML), and the CookieYes branding can only be removed when upgrading to their most expensive package (Ultimate).

CookieYes does not offer, as of now, personalized phone support. While their email guidance has been very well rated in customer reviews, at times it can be a disadvantage that you cannot speak directly to a person for solving issues more quickly.

Is Cookie Information a good CookieYes alternative?

Features

There are a couple of notable feature differences between the two consent management platforms. Cookie Information provides a more flexible cookie banner tool (customization options in JavaScript, HTML and CSS, option to remove logo on all price tiers). They also offer more frequent website cookie scans, a feature highly valued by many companies that want close control on their privacy compliance. On the other hand, CookieYes has a big win on geotargeting, even if only available on their most expensive package.

Product roadmap

Cookie Information is more than a cookie consent solution. With a widening product portfolio, it’s a better alternative for bigger companies looking for one provider for various business needs (e.g. Mobile App Consent, Data Discovery, Whistleblower, or first-party Analytics).
Pricing

CookieYes can be a cheaper solution, but some of the lower packages offer limited features and might not suit privacy compliance requirements. For example, you’re not able to remove the CookieYes logo unless you opt into their most expensive package.

How to switch your cookie banner from CookieYes to Cookie Information in 4 easy steps

Follow these 4 quick steps to migrate to Cookie Information consent management platform today:

Sign up for a free Cookie Information account (you start with a free trial period of 14 days), add your domain and customize your consent banner template. Your consent banner script is ready to install, with Google Consent Mode v2 enabled by default so you comply with Google’s EU user consent policy.

Find and remove any existing CookieYes scripts or SDKs from your website, e.g., Testing CDN or Production CDN scripts.

Implement the consent popup directly through the source code, Google Tag Manager or different CMS integrations. Replace any CookieYes configurations for cookie management, consent, or data privacy compliance with Cookie Information ones.

Clear your website’s cache to ensure the new consent banner is now displayed to website visitors. Check your cookie scanner results to see if you need to define or add any unclassified cookies or other online tracking technologies running on your website. Don’t forget to test to make sure everything’s working correctly and there are no errors.
